Children's Hospital & Medical Center

So that all children may have a better chance to live...

Omaha Children's Hospital & Medical CenterChildren's Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha is the local Children’s Miracle Network hospital. All Children’s Miracle Network funds raised throughout Nebraska, western Iowa and a portion of northern Kansas and northwestern Missouri stay here to help Heartland children served by Children’s. This includes funds raised by the UNL Dance Marathon.

For 67 years, Children's Hospital & Medical Center has been the only health care center in Nebraska dedicated solely to the comprehensive care of babies, children and teens. Patients are referred to the 145-bed hospital from throughout the region for the treatment of complex and unusual diseases in addition to pediatric primary care. Children’s Hospital & Medical Center operates more than 45 specialty clinics in its new, state-of-the-art Specialty Pediatric Center and is home to the only dedicated pediatric emergency department in the region.

In 2014, Children's Hospital & Medical Center had over 405,000 patient visits.

At Children’s, no child in need of medical care is ever turned away due to an inability to pay. Each year, Children’s provides millions of dollars in charity care, uncompensated services, medical education and other community benefits. Our programs are intended to reach out to care for even wider segments of the community through family education and child advocacy programs, and to enhance our patients’ experience, to soothe, comfort and heal the families we serve.

None of this would be possible without the charitable support of our donors and friends whose gifts help us sustain our services and fulfill our mission.
